This 5 bedroom hotel is in Santa Teresa and several blocks off the road and right by the ocean. We usually rent the whole place for my family of grown up 5. What is unusual about the hotel is that the lobby where you have a free great way to start the day Costa Rican breakfast has a few tables and sofa ,chairs , kind of like a living room there is no wall on the ocean side so the pounding surf is right there just 100 ft of pure white sand between you and the ocean. The reason we call it the crab house is after dark the crabs clater in from the beach and walk right in on the tile floor .The bedrooms all lock and have there own bathroom and air . It is really a awesome place with great surfing right here.We are headed back in a few days to work on some land we bought and I would not want to stay anywhere else than here.

Casa Cecilia is a warm and homey beachfront B&B in Santa Teresa in the Nicoya Peninsula. Their beachfront is excellent and has a great surf break. They provide hammocks and lounge chairs under the trees, and the sand at their beach is soft with no rocks. I took some great nature photos of monkeys, iguanas, and birds, all without leaving the B&B property. Tom and Kim, the owners, will make you feel very welcome and give you friendly advice on dining recommendations - all of their tips were great choices. The rest of the staff is warm and friendly and they really make you feel at home.
This B&B is great for families, couples and small groups of friends. There are 4 rooms and an upstairs suite, sleeping about 12-14 total. I can imagine it being fun for a group that size to take the whole place over. While the vibe is fun and upbeat, its not a party place, so I would not recommend staying there if that is what you are after.
Some more basic info: no pool, just the ocean. A great little outdoor shower and outdoor toilet so you dont have to trek back into your room. No screens in the downstairs rooms, just louvered windows. The rooms do have a/c but if you use a ceiling fan and keep the windows open you wont have bugs. There are actually not mosquitos there, esp with a ceiling fan. We were also very impressed with how clean the rooms and the property in general were kept.
Breakfast was plentiful, great Costan Rican coffee, amazing fresh tropical fruit, bread, yogurt, granola, and eggs to order. Surf lessons and massages can be organized through the hotel and they were great and of a great value. You can also rent boards from the hotel.
Casa Cecilia was the perfect choice for my friends and I and a huge part of why our trip to the Southern Nicoya Peninsula was such a great experience.
