Horizon is a peaceful hill top hotel which looks out to the vast horizon of the pacific ocean.
We can see, hear, smell and feel the presence of the big blue from dusk till dawn, dawn till dusk. This energy is our blessed companion, day and night.
Constructed on posts to be one with the mountain our hotel is located at a five minutes walk from the white sands of the beautiful wild beach of Santa Teresa with its famous surf point. Very close to the hotel are also restaurants and shops of Santa Teresa.
For healthy food and drink in a soothing ambiance visit our vegetarian tea house - a temple of the taste, sound, and pure ocean view.
A tranquility pool, formed in the shape of a triangle, points towards the ocean. It is the perfect location for welcoming the breath taking sunsets. Two more pools are dispersed on the premises.
The highest point of the hotel is our wooden yoga deck. Here we can look inwards, if we only want, beyond all that, over the sea of thoughts, into the clarity of horizon.
Lodging:
Our cabins and villas are private wooden houses which are dispersed on different levels on the slope above Santa Teresa.
Each house contains a fully equipped kitchen, air-conditioning, orthopedic health mats, hot water showers, safe-boxes, and balconies to enjoy the views and balmy breeze of the great ocean.

If you're looking for tranquility and absolute natural beauty, Hotel Horizon is the best of the best. The staff makes sure that no details are overlooked , whether it's the hillside setting with open views of the Pacific, or the foliaged landscaping which attracts birds and butterflies, or the natural foods served in the Tea House, or the yoga deck, or massage deck, or the maid's attention to every detail of cleanliness, or just simple grounded conversation. Yoav and Gali are your hosts and are two of the most beautiful people you will ever meet. They will ensure that your stay is perfect. Yoav (the Master) will lead anyone with an open heart and open mind to new levels of yoga and meditaion. Gali will tie any loose ends together, leaving your mind free to focus within.
My wife and iI have traveled the Caribbean extensively the past 20 years and Hotel Horizon is the only place we've returned to several times.
The beach, town shopping, and clubs are a two minute walk. Restaurants are two minutes.

I knew when I arrived I should be staying more than the 2 days I allowed myself. Not only is this hotel unique for the accommodations, picture perfect view, remarkable food, but Yoav and Gali who are your hosts are so warm and thoughtful! Yoav helped me with a moment of distress from a car break in one afternoon. He was able to pick up the phone and put me in touch with the right people and I was back enjoying myself within 1 hour!! (with the help from a special Turkish cookie given to me by Yoav). I highly recommend this hotel if you want to visit the Southern Nicoya area!

A friend and I stayed here at the beginning of february. Gallit (one half of the husband and wife team that run the place) organised us a retreat which included delicious brunches everyday, a yoga class each day, a surf lesson each day and a massage and even horseriding. It was fantastic, she was very flexible and there was plenty to do with lots of time left to relax.
Out little villa was beautiful, on tow floors with hammocks and a lovely private pool to ourselves.
The hotel is a short walk up a steep hill from Palaya del carmen where you have lovely bars, restaurants and great beaches on your doorstep.
Highly recommended.

Horizons is one of our favorite places to sit by the pool, enjoy a yoga class and then surf in the afternoon. I Loved Loved Loved this place. There are really no words to describe how amazing my stay at this place was, but I'm going to try.
This is the place to go if you are looking for a relaxed and relaxing place, where everything is being taken care of in the most personal and attentive way. The breakfast and lunch they serve is amazing. Everything is fresh, made from scratch, with herbs from their own garden! The attention to detail can be witnessed everywhere, from the amazing service in the restaurant, to the beautiful setup for massages (highly recommended), to the gardener who checks each plant everyday, making sure it's doing well.
They also offer great yoga classes, multiple times a day. Beginners as well as advanced yogis can enjoy their classes on the most beautiful yoga deck ever. People walk from all over town to take their classes. I mean, you have to see it for yourself to understand how amazing yoga is when your 'classroom' is surrounded by trees, with a view of the see and a gorgeous sunset.

Everything else you're hearing from other people is true. Yoav and Gali are awesome people. The yoga classes are great. The food is freakin' phenomenal. The views are sick. The location is perfect. Great massages. Great little pool area. Etc. Etc. Somehow, though, it's better than all of that. You just have to be there to absorb all of it. This is a very, very special place at a ridiculous value. Go, and enjoy the journey.

Simply don't know where to start to describe how great was this place. From the view, the service, the cleanliness... it has been among my best stay so far around the world. Although I'm not a "yoga guy", taking a lesson or two has been fantastic. The view from the deck is breathtaking and the staff has been (owner and wife) were just extremely helpful. All in all, I was there with my GF and another couple... everything was just perfect!

one should prepare to be transported immediately upon arrival. every detail at the horizon is thoughtfully considered from the swan shaped towels, to the beautifully, leaf wrapped home-made soap, to the heartfelt, healing yoga. yoav and gali, the couple that own this small hotel/villa, are absolutely extraordinary and they really go all out to make each guest feel completely super served. somehow they manage to do this in the most quiet, thoughtful, understated way. they grow most of their own fruits, veggies and herbs. so, everything they deliciously cook and blend for u is completely fresh and home made on the spot. if you like flowers, the horizons small but immaculately kept gardens are definitely the place for u to stop again to smell the roses. these people r living with so much heart. when u r there, all the subtle beauties they've laid out and the simple rhythm of things feels undeniably contagious.To me, the horizon is what home used to feel like when we were children and life felt slower. its about real hospitality. if you want to feel less like a number and more like an honored guest in someone's home.. and if u want to feel sincerely spoiled...then pls try the horizon. highly recommended with much love

I stayed at Horizon for 5 days at the end of December 2009, and absolutely loved it there! Beautiful, clean rooms. Amazing view. Nice, friendly staff. But most importantly, the owners - Gali and Yoaf are such kind, positive people! They really make you feel like home! I didn't try any food there, but all drinks (including herbal ice tea) were absolutely delicious. And Yoaf's home-made cookies are the must! I went to other places in Costa Rica, but this hotel was by far the best one! I definitely would like to return there again!
“Great Hideout”

We stayed here for 2 days and enjoyed the stay, We wished we would have stayed longer. This place is a Gem, The rooms are clean comfortable with great decor. We loved the brakefast. The ocean views from the villa's are amazing. If you are driving its best to take a 4x4, we drove a car and its one tough ride. Only issue we had was we reached this place pretty late and the reception is closed and the guard on duty doesn't speak english, we had to wake up the owners in order for the guard to give us the keys to our room. I won't suggest driving from Paquera to San Teresa after 6pm as it is pitch dark and hard to see the road due to low traffic. If you plan on going late let owners about your arraival time. Yova and Gali are excellent hosts, we enjoyed taking to them.
“A Secluded Paradise...”

My husband and I went to the Horizon Ocean View Hotel and Yoga Centre from December 5-20, 2009 and we totally LOVED it. Although it took a little while to get there, it was so worth it... we discovered a secluded paradise ! Our villa was beautiful, fully equipped, clean, with a balcony facing the ocean...and even the bed sheets smelled amazing !
We started our days with a fantastic Yoga class given by a highly qualified Yoga instructor, on the Yoga deck overlooking the ocean, followed by a delicious fruit smoothie. There is no better way to start the day !
We also had lunch at the Tea House almost everyday, where we enjoyed
delicious vegetarian meals, beautifully presented, full of colors and
flavors, made with fresh ingredients. We tried everything on the menu and it was all so excellent !
We spent the rest of the day at the beach (only 5 minutes away walking) and in the 'pool of tranquility' at the hotel. Yoav and Gali, the owners, were so nice and kind and made us feel right at home. They were always there to answer our questions, chat and help us book day trips.

i have been in horizon twice one time with my san 5 years old.really beautiful place with an amazing ocean view and a lovely garden.the rooms are spoiling and clean and has a nice balcony watching the ocean with hammock perfect for siesta.
the tea house plays a nice chill out music and serv excellent organic food and shakes (especially the power shake).
from the yoga deck at the top of the hotel you can see a waves lines reching the shore and can measure the surf.a very professional yoga teachers and inspiring classes.
a peaceful place with a pure vibe to enrich your body,mind and spirit.
the owners are friendly and run the olace with a grate personal touch.
definitely i will come again.

I have just returned from another successful trip to Horizon Yoga resort and all I can say- simply the best.
During the last few years I have visited plenty of yoga places and Horizon always remain in the best place.
Mostly because of the human factor, the owners Yoav and Gali, who are giving their soul, in order to maintain the highest quality, cleanness, professional and friendly environment for their guests..
The Hotel and the location provide plenty of peace of mind, yet, who ever wish, can jump within a few second to the beach and surf or enjoy the most of Costa Rican culture.
Restaurants, min nightclubs nature... allot of nature in it's original form.
I will be keep on coming, crossing the world, in order to taste more of this part of paradise. Highly recommend to all your guest, yogis and others, who wish to understand beauty and harmony with themselves, with nature and with others.

If I could, I'd head out to Horizon any day of the week. The cabins are comfortable. The bathrooms are clean and spacious. The air conditioning and in house kitchenet were great to have. When I wasn'r eating at the on-site organic restaurant I did some shopping at the local market and cooked for myself. The views of the ocean all around made me feel like I owned the world .
To top it all off, every morning I headed to the yoga hall where the owners give classes. I'm not a great expert but they were very patient and instructive. Once again, the ocean views from the hall windows are wicked.

And the most importent is that there's a big yoga deck entirely open to the great big biue.

We are going in Santa Teresa for several years now, staying in different place, luxury, exotic, ...
This years we tried the hotel "Horizon" as we wanted to relax and take the famous yoga classes.
This is the most friendly, relaxing place we've been.
The owners are so nice we were surpriesed.
Our bungalow was perfectly clean and well decorated with a beautifull view.
The only negative point would be the size of the bed, not really big.
The breakfast were absolutly incredible! Perfect fresh and healthy food to start the day with a yoga, pilates class or surf lesson. And the massage I had there was one of the best ever.
We strongly recommend the Horizon and will return as soon as we can.

I have been traveling to this part of Costa Rica for several years now and have always eyed the blue roofed Horizon Hotel, but I usually end up some where else. My last trip I finally stayed there and now it will be my first choice when ever I return. For style, view, privacy and comfort Horizon cannot be beat, but what I didn't realize is that they are very affordable as well.

There are no words to describe how beautiful and serene Horizon is. This is by far my favourite vacation. Horizon owners are very welcoming and warm, the rooms are well kept, beautiful, clean and romantic. The kitchenettes are just the right size and stocked with all the plates, cutlery and cooking ware you need to get by. The bathrooms are clean and the showers are large with an ocean view. How amazing it was to shower with the window open, staring at the ocean.
The beach, grocery and restaurants are all nearby. We would walk to the beach and return to the hotel for a quick dip in the outdoor pool to cool off. I recommend ZULA restaurant, just at the bottom of the hill from Horizon.
The owners helped us plan our day trips, arranged for cabs to the airport and helped us contact a surf instructor for some lessons.
I loved everything about this hotel. The view, the food, the service and hospitality, the peacefulness - EVERYTHING. I would live here if I could!!!
This place is truly, like a dream. I recommend it to anybody.

My husband and I stayed at Horizon for 5 nights and cannot wait to go back! Our villa was spotless, comfortable, and I loved the decor. The owners were amazing people and super helpful. We took an incredible yoga class, and the breakfast at Horizon was one of our favorites. I have no complaints. This was one of my favorite trips and I would def. recommend Horizon. We will be back!! Prob in a couple of months. Such a special place.

We loved the Horizon and Santa Teresa! We stayed for four nights in the 2-bedroom villa with private pool. With two adults and one seven year-old boy, it was the perfect size and we loved having our own pool. The grounds around the villa and pool are very beautiful. Although, we did not surf or participate in the yoga classes, we found plenty of fun things to do. Yoav and Gali were very friendly and came up with great ideas that we all enjoyed. We had a great time riding horses on the beach, visting the Rainsong Sanctuary and going on the snorkling trip to Isla Tortuga. When we had free time, we enjoyed playing in the ocean and swimming in the pool. We even enjoyed the loud thunder and lighting storm on our last night.

First of all, Horizon is a fantastic place to stay in Santa Teresa. This is a very comfortable zen like atmosphere. It's located mid way on a hillside that is covered in natural beauty of the jungle, amazing wild life, and ocean views. The amazing family that runs Horizon made sure that we were well taken care of and accommodated us in any way they could help.
I was looking to take a surf and yoga retreat. I had done a lot of research in the area of Costa Rica because i had heard how great the waves are for surfing, at any level. I found that Horizon had a retreat package that i was looking for. The best prices that included everything that i would want to do in Santa Teresa. Our surf instructor Ben from Australia was awesome and pin pointed what i have been doing wrong in my surfing. Check out his shop "Nalu". As for yoga, the yoga deck alone is a breath taking view of the ocean while practicing. I enjoyed the different yoga disciplines but if you get a chance to practice with owner Yoav, you're in for a treat!
Over all, Horizon has a great vibe, very clean, comfortable, great breakfast and lunch (try their smoothies too), free internet, chill out lounge, amazing massage practitioners, rooms have international electrical outlets, and is a very quiet place to relax by the pool and read a book when not surfing. (They do not have hair dryers, not a big deal just bring a travel size one). When going back to Costa Rica, i will be staying at Horizon again. Not only is Horizon a beautiful place but the family that runs Horizon are beautiful people, inside and out!

We have been to the Horizon Hotel 2 times... 3 weeks in April 2008 and 2 1/2 weeks in April 2009 and we are looking forward to going again next year. The hotel is the perfect place for a relaxing vacation. It is set on a hill overlooking the ocean. The hosts Yoav and Gali are very welcoming and the staff members are all very friendly. The cabinas are spotlessly clean and cozy with everything you will need for the perfect holiday including hot showers and air conditioning. The teahouse serves delicious vegetarian cuisine, home baked goods, fruit smoothies, special coffees and their own home grown organic herbal tea. The gardens are beautifully maintained. The pool is the perfect place to cool off while enjoying the sunset. The yoga and pilates classes are amazing. I can't think of a more perfect place to practice yoga. The hotel has a great location. Within walking distance there is a grocery store, bank, gift shops and lots of restaurants. It is a 5 minute walk down the hill to the beautiful beach which is great for surfing.

A friend and I stayed at Horizon Hotel in Santa Teresa and we didn't want to leave!!! Not only are the people who own it so nice, relaxed, friendly and accommodating, but the hotel itself is the same with incredible views and beautiful grounds. They had everything we were looking for, wonderful fresh and healthy food, great Yoga Classes, beautiful music, pools, perfect hotel accommodations: hot water, ac, comfortable beds, plenty of space, a kitchen, movies to rent, balcony's with views, great staff for surfing, massage, meditation and Yoga, great contacts in the city, what more can I say other than I'd definitely go back! On a side note, It was also nice to have outlets that are the same as the ones in America. The owners have made an oasis overlooking the horizon, brilliant!

Horizon is the place for the perfect vacation. the combination between the breathtaking location (the beautiful ocean!!) , the amazing cabins whith the heavenly porch, yoga lessons, and of course Gali and Yoav - the most sensitive and kind hosts we ever met (and we travel a lot) - makes it unbelievable. we will take our next vacation this year at the Horizon again with our little baby...

That was the best vacation I had in my life... ( and i am traveling a lot few times a year ). But in Horizon i have found a perfect combination of luxury, privacy, activities (the best yoga sessions and perfect ocean for surfing), personal and spoiling service, charming garden and one of the most beautiful spots for a perfect vacation.
The hotel is located on a magical beach. Nature at its beauty. The service and comfort are warm and you have Exactly what you need. The classes of Yoga opened new horizon for me there... Suitable name for an amazing hotel... VERY RECOMMENDED!!!
